Our Purpose in Prayer
“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: ”
– Colossians 1:9-12
Paul’s prayer for the Colossians states the purpose of God for every child of God: That they might continually be filled and ever growing in the knowledge of God and His will.
Paul committed his life to this growth and dedicated his ministry to encouraging this growth in the lives of others.
We at New Covenant College and Baptist Bible Institute, recognize this same God-given purpose for ourselves and others and have committed ourselves to it, that as we grow in the knowledge of God, we might help others to do the same.
Believing God has given us but one certain and all-sufficient means to this growth, His Word, we are committed to teaching both its content and, specifically, the proper methods and principals that are essential to one being better able to rightly divide the truth, as God has purposed.
God’s purpose is our purpose: that we might grow in a fuller understanding both in our hearts and minds, and that evidenced by the rightful, faithful application of it in the living of our lives.
If this is your desired purpose, then we invite you to come grow with us in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and that to the Glory of God!
